How does it work?

Plasma is a mixture of 3 elements, solid, liquid and gas. When these 3 elements are combined, they create a static charge causing a spark that is visible to the human eye. This supplies energy between a metallic tip and the skin, where plasma (ionised air) carbonises the surface of skin and turns the skin’s material into gas. An electrical arc is created, which results in sublimation i.e. turns a solid straight into gas. Therefore, the results are instant, and no heat is transferred to the surrounding area. The results of tissue retraction and tightening gives results that are comparable to invasive surgery.

The treatment process:

During the consultation appointment, a consent form will be completed and the therapist will discuss a test patch performed. Aftercare instructions will also be provided with a complimentary aftercare gel.

On the treatment day it is recommended that no make-up is worn on the treatment area. Numbing cream can be used as some areas maybe sensitive and painful.
Whilst the therapist treats the skin, a small amount of carbon dust will appear on the surface which will appear as henna like dots. This is residue from the skin we have just removed and also assists the skin to heal quickly. The treated area will form tiny scabs to heal the wound with new, fresh and polished skin underneath. We provide aftercare notes and also included in the treatment aftercare Gel.

Example of Treatment Progress:

Day1 Redness/ and slightly inflammed, it may feel like a Sunburn sensation.
Day2 Scabs start to form but may not all completely be formed.
Day3-4 Swelling, irritation and redness will begin to fade. Scabs will be fully formed and will begin to fall off. At this stage its important not to scratch the area.
Day4-7 Scabs should have almost completely fallen off . Pink skin is present underneath. This is normal as new skin is always pink prior to the melanocytes migrating to the surface. UV protection is very imperative at this point
Weeks2,3&4 At this point, the pink skin should have slowly faded and the skin will start to blend in with the remaining pigment
